1. What Shops of Timor is

Shops of Timor (shops.oftimor.com) is an online marketplace where shops, brands, makers and individuals (“Sellers”) list products and second-hand items, and where visitors and registered users browse, order, pay and arrange delivery or pickup.

Shops of Timor is a marketplace and record-keeper. The contract of sale is between the buyer and the Seller. We are not the seller of Sellers’ products, and we are not a bank or an escrow service.

Shops of Timor (plural) is a distinct service from Shop of Timor (shop.oftimor.com). Your single S.O.T. account works across both and the wider S.O.T. family.

2. Listings

Sellers are solely responsible for the accuracy of their listings — description, price, availability, condition and legality of the item. Prices are shown in US dollars unless stated otherwise.

3. Payments

Payment is made in cash (including cash on delivery) or in SOT Coin. SOT Coin payments are executed by the SOT Coin wallet service under its own terms. Shops of Timor does not hold buyer funds as an escrow between the parties except where a specific protection feature says so.

4. Delivery

Delivery, where offered, is fulfilled by independent drivers through the SOT ride-dispatch service. Delivery times are estimates. Risk in the goods passes on delivery. Where delivery is unavailable, pickup from the Seller may be offered.

5. Returns, refunds & disputes

Sellers must honour a clear returns policy for faulty or misdescribed goods, consistent with applicable consumer-protection law. Because every order is recorded, our support team can review a dispute and may act against Sellers who break these terms, including suspension.

6. Prohibited items

Certain goods may not be listed (see the Marketplace Rules). Listing prohibited items leads to removal and may lead to account suspension and referral to the authorities.

7. Accounts & conduct

You must provide accurate information, keep your credentials safe, and use the platform only for lawful trade. We may suspend accounts that post fraudulent listings, sell prohibited goods, harass other users, or attempt to bypass platform safeguards.

8. Reviews & ratings

Reviews must reflect genuine transactions. We moderate reviews under the same rules for all parties.

9. Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Shops of Timor is not liable for losses arising from transactions between users, from inaccurate listings, or from the acts of Sellers or delivery drivers. Nothing here removes rights you have under mandatory consumer-protection law.
